Busy ol' day!

Stayed over my mate Catharine's last night with two of my besties Tom and Frank, Tom had the sofa and a cover, Frank had the cushions off the sofa and a sleeping bag and I had the floor and my jacket, good times! We had been drinking and Tom fell asleep fairly quickly, Frank was close to follow but boy does that kid snore.

I know I snore like a beast but our Frank wow, I would give that man a medal! Kept me up for a good hour or so alongside me trying to get comfy, Tom had the cheek to blame as well!! I slept from about 5AM til about half nine, I got picked up an hour or so later and headed home.

Mumma took me out to get some new clothes, I got a few t-shirts, some boxers and socks.

Our TV at home busted and the colors went all weird so we got a new TV, the bloke at the store threw in a TV stand for 1p (originally 80quid) we then grabbed some lunch in Tesco's and headed home.

Took me about 5-10 minutes to set up the stand then I fixed the TV on it's stand, hooked her up and switched her on...

I was not happy with what I saw, a dark black horizontal line through the screen, I mean we bought this TV about an hour and a half ago.

Here's a pic.

Mumma rang up the place and we ended up swapping it, set up the new one and job's a gooden!

Pretty setup.

Paul - A Great Shout

Just chilling in tonight and put on the DVD "Paul" and I must say now it's a great movie. Check out the trailer.

This movie is NOT for the devoutly religious or for those who are offended by swearing and sexual references. Period. If you THINK you might be offended by anti-religion humor, swearing, or sexual references, then don't watch it.

If you enjoyed "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz", this will be right up your alley. There were lots of sci fi movie references (Alien, ET, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Star Wars, Aliens, Predator, etc.)

It is lewd, it will certainly will be offensive to some American Christians, and it is totally sci-fi, but it's absolutely hilarious.

I hope you enjoy it, I sure did!

Shocking Scenes at the Indiana State Fair.

A good friend of mine came to me today feeling a bit down I pondered why he was feeling sad and he linked me to the following video. The footage I admit isn't pleasant and I apologize if I have just put a downer on your day, You see my pal lives 15-20mins away from this....

5 counts of death so far and 45+ others injured, thankfully no one was on the stage at the time, the warm-up band had just finished and crowds were waiting for country duo Sugarland to get on, I am shocked how so little were harmed in this tragic mishap, stormy weather and heavy winds overpowered the riggings and the stage gave way causing shock and destruction to those below.

I guess I would just like to say my thoughts and best wishes are to those five families who have lost one of their own, and to all those who are still recovering or hospitalized I hope you get better soon, I know there has been a shit load of destruction in England at the moment with the riots and looting but this little piece of news really did touch a soft spot, as I say a good friend of mine lives near and could well of been down there when that stage gave way.

If you do follow a religion or do speak to the old guy up there have a word and wish them well, that's all for today and thanks for reading.

Rioting/Looting: Is it over?

A 68 year old man has died from wounds after Monday nights rioting, the poor man was jumped and beaten as he attempted to put out a fire during the Monday night trouble in London.

More than 1,500 people have been arrested in connection with disorder that wreaked havoc in English cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham...over 450 of which have been processed.

It has been estimated by the Association of British Insurers that damages caused in these recent riots could cost “well over £100m”.

All the photos, CCTV, home videos and media provided by onlookers has proven to be a great shout. Police have been able to identify many of the rioters and looters and have spent a great deal of today conducting planned raids on suspect's houses, proving to be an all round success. Many stolen items have been retrieved and offenders arrested.

Police really are doing their best now to ensure these criminals are not getting away with it.

West Midland Police's Superintendent Mark Payne told suspects: "Don't sleep easy, we are coming for you."

Assistant Chief Constable at Greater Manchester Police, Garry Shewan, has said "We know who you are and we are coming to get you".

Many things have been blamed for these riots, I will only list them, going into too much detail will just cause frustration and annoyance:

Welfare dependence
Social exclusion
Lack of fathers
Spending cuts
Weak policing
Racism
Gangsta rap and culture
Consumerism
Opportunism
Technology and social networking

16,000 Police are still patrolling London and will be there throughout this coming weekend, let's just hope we have seen the worst of this and hope things can finally come to an end so we can rebuild and sort our country out.

Riots: Follow up.

Three men are run over and killed as they protect property in a second night of violence in Birmingham...

These were in a group of people defending their properties.. utter bullshit.

16,000 police officers were in London last night, that's 10k more than the previous night. This seemed to prevent any major disruption around London but shit was still kicking off in Manchester and Birmingham.

More than 1,100 people have been arrested in centres including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol and Leicester.

Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham bore the brunt of the latest rioting and looting, with trouble also erupting in Liverpool, Salford, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Bristol and Gloucester.

Police and bystanders have been uploading images of offenders to the interwebs in an attempt to identify them, there has been some excellent progress and people really are pulling together to try and make things better.

There is also this site but I am unsure if it is a troll or not, seems legit.

Preparations have been made for tonight so hopefully shit will be calm and we can work on rebuilding and processing all these arrests whilst also identifying those who partook in this outrageous behavior!

Riots Riots Everywhere...

Well I am going to keep this short as I need all my energy to be disgusted right now.

Throughout England there are mass riots, looting...hoodies on the loose...setting anything and everything on fire, breaking into buildings/shops, threatening the public and shop owners, beating people up and generally being dicks...

It appears anger over the shooting of Mark Duggan was the cause of this rioting. Mark Duggan, a 29-year-old father of four, was gunned down in disputed circumstances Thursday in Tottenham.

Since then the shit has literally hit the fan.

Latest news reports are that London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol and many other places now are being over run by rioters and looters..

It really is unclear on what these people are trying to achieve, they are literally destroying their hometowns, the places they live, the places they grew up...if they destroy it all...what will they have left?

People are moaning at the lack of police presence, but I've seen a few videos online of a group of police being outnumbered, people throwing road signs, cones, bricks and anything they could at them...about 40 odd youths outnumbering 8 policemen, it really is sickening.

They are setting police cars on fire, buses...businesses, the looting is insane. An arcade in Birmingham was recently hit by raiders, the lady in charge was threatened if she wouldn't let them in the vault. She called the police a few times before and during the raid but nothing was done.

I really do not know what to say, I am actually speechless and disgusted at the behavior of of England today, it is nothing to be proud of.

99% of these people are just rioting and looting because they can...They have no REAL reason to be doing any of this...

I could rant on forever on how I wish the police or army could just get in there and shoot any and all who do not stand down. We NEED to regain power, we cannot just sit here and let this bullshit continue. Peoples businesses and livelihoods have been ruined, one guy was also shot again today during rioting, 100 people have been arrested, but it's not enough....

Here is Allied Carpets which was burnt down on Saturday night...Before and After.

And that is just one building!

Many other buildings/cars have been set ablaze, with no care as to whether anyone was inside or not.

More pics of the hell that's let loose...

Here's the Video I was on about with the police being outnumbered...just a bit?!

(couldn't figure how to embed, sorry)

More pics...

It's sickening.

Half of these bloody hoodies are like 15...mum's and dad's sort your fucking kids out they are being twats and ruining our country....

This woman hits the nail right on the head!!

I say send in the man!

Drinking Games - Nights Out - Fresher Tips (UCLAN)

Good evening fine UCLAN’ers-to-be. Even though I am a 3rd year at the wonderful Worcester university I’ve grown attached to UCLAN, so feel I should share with you some vital drinking games and info on nights out and random shit.

So to help you get things going before a heavy night out we have a few pre-drinking games.

Firstly a simple and fun starter, Flippy Cups!! Oh shit flippy cups!

This is by far one of the simplest to organise yet if you do not concentrate you will fail for your team. It’s a relay race with teams of any size really, preferably 3, 4 or 5 members, choose your team wisely because if you lose not only are you a shit excuse of a fresher, you will have to see off plenty of drinks.

Cups used are the cheap plastic shitty ones from Tesco’s or your nearest store, filled to the top with a drink of your choice. Don’t be a dick though, have a decent drink or get the fuck out.

Simple game, line up the cups..on “GO!” the first person from each team has to see off their drink flip their plastic cup to an upside-down position with just their fingers (using the edge of the table..Obviously..) once they’ve done it the next one goes…first team to finish all and have all upturned cups wins, losing team are bantered then forced to drink whatever has been agreed at the start.

Moving on…

This is a game we play in our house and it doesn’t really have a specific name, we just call it Paralyser, it has many names but here I’ll explain. (tis a card game FYI)

Sat around a table preferably, a dealer is chosen and he/she will go around to each player and ask them “Black or Red” (assuming you are playing with proper cards) each person will choose a colour and if they are correct they don’t have to drink, if they get it wrong they must drink 2 fingers.

Round 2 is “Higher or Lower” ( than the first card you were given ) drinking if you are wrong etc, Round 3 is “In or Out” (whether your 3rd card fits within your current two or outside, e.g 5 is in if you have a 2 and an 8 but a 10 would be out…get it? Good). Round 4 is “Pick a Suit” (This explains itself I think and usually gets everyone a drink in them).

That is the first half of the game over, everyone picks up their cards and holds them in their hand whilst the dealer makes two lines on the table usually consisting of 5 cards in each line one column is a “Give” and the other is the “Take” , “Give” is usually on the left and “Take” on the right, each of the five rows represent a number of fingers (Usually 2,3,4,5,shot) so you turn over the first card on the “Give” column and whoever has a matching card can give out the designated amount of fingers to any of the players, so first card 2 fingers, second card 3 fingers etc. After you’ve turned over the “Give” you then turn the “Take” if you have the card shown in your hand you have to drink the designated amount of fingers. This goes on until you get through them all, rinse repeat.

Choose wisely who you give drinks to as they may get you back; it’s also fun to gang up on someone.

The last I will mention is “Ring of Fire” an all time favourite,

Requires a pint glass and a pack of cards ( and a lot of booze of course).

Place the empty pint on the table and spread the cards around it facedown, then recap on the rules for each card.

A – Everyone Drinks - Simples, you all have a few fingers.

2- “You” You can choose someone to drink

3- “Me” – You must drink

4- “Whore’s” – All girls drink

5- “Thumb Master”- When you put your thumb on the table everyone must follow and whomever is last must drink. you are the thumb master till someone else picks a five. You can initiate thumbing at any time in the game.

6- “Dicks” – All guys drink

7- “Heaven” – Point your finger in the sky, whoever is last must drink

8- “Pick a Date” – Choose someone to drink with you, any time one of you is required to drink throughout the game the other must.

9- “Bust a Rhyme” – You start a rhyme, it can be anything, next in the circle continues the rhyme, first one to fail and not rhyme loses. Have a few fingers

10- “Categories”- Pick a category and then you go around naming something related to the category, first to mess p or repeat one loses.

Jack- “Make a Rule” – You can make up any rule that everyone has to follow, such as you can only drink with your right hand. Everyone (including you) must follow this rule for the whole entire game and if you disobey you must drink.

Queen- “Questions “ - Go around in a circle and you have to keep asking questions to each other. Doesn’t matter what the question is, as long as it’s a question. Whoever messes up and does not say a question, drinks.

King- “Pour!”- You must pour a little of your drink into the cup that is in the middle of the table. Whoever picks up the LAST king must drink the whole cup, which could be filled with different drinks, so who knows how bad it could taste!

Obviously different people play it with different cards meaning other things, as long as you establish your card's rules before you start you are golden :)

I’m sure there are other bars and places to go drinking, these are the mains ones I feel will fulfil your studenty needs,

Righty, now we’ve established some drinking games and places to go I feel you should learn a few things about being a fresher.

  • If a third year tells you to see off your drink, you better had bloody do it.
  • If you are required to drink in games do not under any circumstance pull out, unless you are throwing up. That is the only way out.
  • Always respect those in years 2 and 3, they can make or break you. Treat then with some form of respect and they may be nice when it comes to making you drink and do stupid things.
  • Join everything; do as much shit as you can, meet as many people as you can. You’ll thank me in years to come.
  • Blag as much free shit as you can, it’s there to be had so bloody have it!
  • Try not to be a dick to shy people or those different to you. They may turn out to be amazing, wonderful people, give them a chance eh? I am sure you will be scared and shy to start with.
  • Have a good time; party hard, do some work, make friends, live the dream!

I apologize for my shocking spelling, punctuation and grammar. I barely passed English at school.

It’s the thought that counts though eh?

Regards,

Will x
