In honour of those lost in the events of 9/11

18 years ago the world had to deal with one of the most tragic days in history, many lives were lost when nineteen men hijacked four fuel-loaded US commercial airplanes bound for west coast destinations. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

I've been trying to get into shape these last 3 or so weeks and have really been pushing the exercise, I was 15 stone, I do not have scales but I doubt I weigh that now.

Anyhow, to mark the 18th year since 9/11 I challenged myself to jog up 110 flights of stairs, which was the same amount each of the towers had.

I finished work at about 8:20 after 9+ hours of already running around a hot and semi-busy kitchen, I walked to the nearest car park and raced the lift to the top floor, repeating the process until I hit over 110 floors; about 36 times..

I'm not gonna lie I am by no means a fit person and it took me nearly an hour with two 5 minute breathers but I finally pushed myself to get there.

Today marks such a tragic day in history and it effected not only my friends and family but the whole world so I had to test myself.

Thought I would just share my achievement with you because if you know me you know how hard I had to push myself to do it.

God bless you all x
